Reports to the General Manager of Operational Excellence with dotted line reporting to the Director of Operations. In addition, this role will work across the Pump QRC network to identify manufacturing best practices and move to standardize.This role is perfect for the continuous improvement professional who is passionate about making an operation better, every single day. If that sounds like you, come join this industry leader!Responsibilities & Requirements:Responsibilities:Implement and manage Operational Excellence activities to support and drive efforts within the QRC leadership team and with employee-based process teams to achieve improved quality, reduced waste, and maximize process performance.Visit various Pump QRCs across the network and work with local manufacturing teams, AMSS Engineering, and Educational Services to look for specific best practices around shop floor operationsUpon identification of those best practices, work with stakeholders to create clear work instructionsDevelop training material and implement said best practices with support from Engineering and Educational ServicesPartner with sites post-implementations to ensure compliance. When compliance slips, develop re-training plans OR modify materials as necessary; keep the feedback loop open continuouslyDevelop control plans and facilitate training to ensure proper execution & recording of quality testingValidate results to assure compliance with industry standards and/or specific project requirementsWork with Quality teams to targeted and specific areas for improvement and utilize the OpEx toolbox and methods to drive changeIdentify areas of process improvement and execute specific OpEx production projectsLead site planning process to maximize floor space, minimize lead time, and optimize flowDrive operational excellence principles such as constraint management, one-piece flow production, pull systems, workplace organization and setup reductionEnsure constant application of company procedures and policies and share local best practices to help accelerate implementation throughout the organizationMonitor, track, and report implementation plans and progress in pursuit of projects and KPI'sRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field from a four-year college or university; plus, five or more years of relevant experience within a high mix, low volume production environment.Experience working in a lean environment and leading lean activities is requiredPrevious lean manufacturing experience leading a plant lean transformation is desiredPractical experience leading kaizen events and teaching and coaching and implementing operational excellence toolsPrevious experience developing and implementing quality systems, including but not limited to tools such as PFMEA, control plans, standardized work and layer audits is requiredAbility to influence-decision makers in the organizationAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing work environmentExcellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to teach, coach and persuadeStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, in addition to interpersonal, teamwork skillsStrong written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with various audiences at the site level.
