Job description: Senior Manager Public Affairs & Innovation Policy for North America As Senior Manager Public Affairs & Innovation Policy for North America you will focus on translating our strategy for sustainable mobility into concrete policies and public funded projects. Vitesco Technologies is an international leader in intelligent and electrified drive systems and reflects this through advocating its values and responsibilities. The position assumes a complex interface function between political decision-makers, public committees, and associations as well as coordination with the internal specialist departments at Vitesco Technologies. In order to actively shape the transformation towards electromobility, the policy areas of digitization, sustainability as well as mobility and transport are the focus of activities. You will steer an external public affairs agency and engage especially in the US, but will also give advice to local functions in Canada and Mexico Roles and Responsibilities Be the North American region representative for Public Affairs & Innovation Policy and report to central organization Create an early warning system for changing political framework conditions that impact automotive suppliers Orchestrate common (global) positions on public policies and communicate them to external institutions and political decision makers Engage in associations and working groups in order to translate between technological developments, business needs and policy making processes Coordinate and support researchers and engineers in acquiring public funding for research, development and innovation projects and give advice to R&D departments on how to set-up public funded projects Engage in the R&D ecosystems (e.g. with universities and research organizations) to maintain and build- up research partnerships Direct report as personal advisor to Vitesco Technologies regional head and functional report to central Public Affair organization. Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Engineering, Marketing, Communications or similar field Minimum of 10 years of Professional experience in/with Parliaments, Ministries, (technical) Associations or Public Affairs tasks Very good presentation skills, ability to negotiate result driven and diplomatically, ability to drive compromise and consensus Strong written communication skills with an ability to reduce complexity and write clear cut briefings for senior executives Experience in global consortium projects involving different companies, academics and research organizations Fluent in English Preferred Job Requirements: Technical understanding of public funding processes on national or state level is a plus Knowledge about the political system of Canada and/or Mexico is a plus
