Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer,
the Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying
referral sources and developing strategies to generate growth. This
includes assessing market opportunities, creating specific market
business plans aligned with the hospital's overall strategy, and
managing their implementation and evaluation. The role also
involves facilitating open communication between the hospital,
physician practices, and referral sources, providing high-touch
customer service, prompt issue resolution, and strategic planning
activities aimed at increasing market share.

- Performs strategic business planning and assists in developing
and implementing the hospital business plan to drive service-line
growth and improve quality and processes. Provides technical
expertise, support, and oversight in plan development,
modification, feedback, and implementation.
- Works with executives and leaders to establish growth
strategies aligned with local strategic plans and market
priorities.
- Supervises and oversees market research, feasibility studies,
market analyses, and other relevant assessments to support
decision-making.
- Evaluates market demographics including population trends, age,
gender, race, and projections for both physicians and
patients.
- Recommends new program initiatives and manages their
implementation, tracking, and evaluation.
- Develops goals and timelines for physician referral growth and
acts as a liaison between physicians and administration, including
external stakeholders.
- Develops and implements marketing strategies aligned with
hospital goals, overseeing advertising, social media, and content
created by third-party agencies.
- Collaborates with local organizations for public relations and
serves as a liaison for business development and marketing
issues.
- Conducts outreach initiatives to increase referral volumes,
analyzing referral data and working with leadership to prioritize
growth efforts.
- Establishes ongoing communication with referral sources,
including visits, calls, and meetings, to foster relationships and
monitor outcomes.
- Addresses concerns promptly related to referral source
satisfaction, working with leadership for service recovery and
issue resolution.
- Promotes provider engagement through orientation, site visits,
and professional events.
- Provides market intelligence to leadership on opportunities and
competitive landscape changes.
- Ensures compliance with legal and confidentiality standards,
maintains a safe work environment, and performs other related
duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in healthcare marketing, business
development, or related roles.
License/Certification: None required.

communications.
- Ability to leverage analytics and market data to meet strategic
targets.
- Strong understanding of healthcare trends and
regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborative team player with strong organizational
skills.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching; occasional lifting,
carrying, bending, squatting. Visual and hearing acuity required.
