Job Description:
Job Description Position Summary Conducts day-to-day Quality
Control activities such as inspection. Quality Control inspectors
receive their daily instruction/priorities from the QC Supervisor.
All while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Essential
Responsibilities Ensure designated measuring equipment is in proper
working condition and calibrated. Effectively communicate with
department supervisors and upper management. Utilize email groups
to communicate with Receiving, Front Office, Shipping and Sales
departments. Assist Sales with special requests (pipe wall checks,
pre-qualifying material, etc.). Check ---critical--- orders or
orders with past problems. Sample check material prior to
machining. Perform dimensional inspection (sampling) of machined
material to ensure quality requirements have been achieved.
Complete QC related requests (measurements, inspections, critical
orders, etc.) accurately and on time. Segregate, accurately
identify and report material discrepancies to the QC Supervisor.
Process and handle NCR, and RGA issues (including inventory and
containment of affected stock). Perform PMI Testing. Assist
Management when needed. Attend daily departmental meetings.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Duties are not limited
to those described above, and may be expanded as needed Information
and Activities Critical to Process Quality Ensures Material is in
proper condition prior to shipment Dimensional checks Visual Checks
Identification checks Ensures Inspection reports are properly
filled out Personnel are following the sample procedure (CNC
Machines). Personnel are measuring machined material 100% (Manual
Machines). Ensures proper technique is used when machine shop is
checking material Proper measuring equipment Correct product
drawings Segregation of non-conforming material Identify and
Separate nonconforming material from good stock Assist Department
Managers in establishing root cause of nonconformities. Generate
NCR when necessary. Department Responsibilities QMS: Follow
Department Work Instructions & Job Scope Follow Quality policy and
Department Processes Attend department meetings Safety: Attend
brief daily safety meetings with Department Supervisor Always
follows safety guidelines when inside the facility Maintain clear
aisle ways and organize QCW racks Communicates equipment breakdowns
and safety hazards to upper management. Ongoing responsibility of
creating and keeping a safe work environment Qualifications Speak
and read English. Bilingual Spanish preferred 5 years PVF industry
experience Ability to read and understand industry specifications,
charts, and tables High school diploma or GED Basic computer
skills. Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
Ability to drive forklift and secure certification Must have
average reading, writing, and mathematical skills Capable of
lifting 50 lbs. with back support Able to stand and operate a
variety of equipment as assigned Takes initiative and can work
independently Requires a high level of attention to detail Able to
