Position Overview Augment Professional Services (APS) is seeking an
experienced R&D Chemist to support product innovation and
formulation development within the automotive chemicals and
lubricant industry. This role will focus on developing, testing,
and optimizing lubricant formulations, fuel additives, and
automotive chemical products. The R&D Chemist will lead
laboratory experiments, analyze formulation performance, and
support the scale-up of new products from research through
production. The role requires strong expertise in lubricant
chemistry, additive technologies, and laboratory testing
methodologies. This position will collaborate closely with
laboratory technicians, quality assurance teams, and product
development leadership to drive innovation and ensure that new
products meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and
performance expectations. Qualifications Required Technical Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,
or related field 3–7 years of experience in chemical product
development or lubricant formulation Experience with automotive
chemicals, fuel additives, or lubricant technologies Knowledge of
ASTM testing procedures and laboratory testing standards Strong
laboratory analytical skills and experience with instrumentation
Experience documenting experiments and preparing technical reports
Strong problem-solving and formulation optimization skills
Preferred Experience / Qualifications Experience developing engine
oils, fuel treatments, or industrial lubricants Familiarity with
tribology and lubricant performance testing Experience supporting
product commercialization and scale-up Knowledge of regulatory
compliance related to chemical products Experience working in
automotive aftermarket or industrial chemical sectors APS
